Loading iron ore into Panamax vessels
In the Port of San Nicolas, with a front loader and a mobile hopper, iron ore is loaded into Panamax type vessels using a Telestacker with conveyor belt of 36", (914mm) and 190 feet (58m) in length, with capacity of 1000 tons hour.
Thanks to its radial movement, up to three consecutive holds can be loaded without repositioning the equipment. The remote control allows the operator to appreciate where the cargo falls in the hold, preventing the ship list. As the vessel is loaded and increases its draft, the TeleStacker's tilt angle is adjusted as required.
Once the operation is complete, all equipment is transported to its storage location and the dock area is cleared
